Make your dream come true and become the owner of one of Tenerife's most historic and famous houses, Hacienda San Nicolás. It is a distinguished 17th century mansion historically linked to the Valcárcel family, as can be seen from the coat of arms in its own chapel. This family was also awarded the honorary title of "Alféreces Mayores" of the island of Tenerife.
Situated in a clearing in the middle of the famous Orotava Valley, it stands dignified and harmonious in the present-day municipality of Puerto de la Cruz in the north of the island of Tenerife. Dedicated to Saint Nicholas of Tolentino, the chapel occupies an area of about 74 m² and is distinguished by its coffered ceiling and unique 17th century imported bricks from Seville.
The main façade of this historic Tenerife mansion is characterised by its simplicity and symmetry and consists of three linear windows on the second floor and a small Canarian balcony above the entrance gate. The L-shaped courtyard with portico on wooden columns made of old Canarian pine has an enclosed gallery on the second floor with traditional Canarian sash windows. Access to the courtyard is via a rustic pebble-floored veranda, which everywhere exudes the rural villa aspect that characterises this beautiful property.
Next to the house are many outbuildings that have been added over the centuries, including a beautiful 19th century bodega. In the middle of the courtyard, surrounded by lush vegetation, there is a beautiful stone fountain that enriches the atmosphere and makes it a fantastic oasis of tranquillity.
Until recently, the Hacienda San Nicolás was a popular restaurant with an incomparable ambience. In addition to restaurant use, a variety of commercial as well as private uses would be possible here.
