“I don’t do things halfway.”
Mr. Machwitz, what path led you into the real estate industry?
I grew up in Bielefeld, studied here, and remain deeply rooted in the region both personally and professionally. During my studies in Business Administration and Business Mathematics, I gained experience at the headquarters of a major franchise company and supported the strategic development of the system through to its IPO.
Since 2001, I have been self-employed as a managing partner and have advised franchise systems, particularly in the areas of controlling, process management, and IT-supported scalability. In 2022, I expanded my entrepreneurial focus to include the real estate industry and managed my own real estate agency until early 2026.
What motivated you to join KENSINGTON?
On the one hand, the realization that as an independent operator it is becoming increasingly demanding to position oneself sustainably against established competitors in a dynamic market environment. On the other hand, I was convinced by the overall package at KENSINGTON: the brand, positioning, vision, brand presence, productive partner discussions and the strong headquarters team.
Keyword “Bielefeld does indeed exist.” What does the region mean to you?
As a native and convinced Bielefeld resident, I feel strongly connected to the region. I appreciate the people here and value the advantages of a region that is less driven by tourism. Bielefeld stands for authenticity and economic strength, and with Sparrenburg Castle as the city’s landmark, there is even a symbolic parallel to our logo.
What do you stand for as an entrepreneur?
Anyone who knows me knows that I always give 100 percent (or more), with heart and mind. I don’t do things halfway.
