Location
Between banana plantations in the northwest of Tenerife lies the municipality of Los Silos. It borders Santiago del Teide, Garachico, El Tanque and Buenavista del Norte. The hill of Aregume protects the historic centre of the village from the north winds. This was also the reason why people settled in this area, which was also crossed by the Camino Real (Royal Way) that connected Garachico with Buenavista.
