Colonia de St. Pere is the right choice for people who are looking for a home near the sea and love relaxation, beautiful nature, spectacular sunsets and the original Mallorca. The small marina of Colònia de Sant Pere is also home to a few fishing boats, but is mostly used by yachts. The buildings in the village are one to two storeys high and there are no high-rise buildings as in other tourist centers. Although tourism has already arrived here, it is not designed for large numbers of visitors. The promenade and beaches are correspondingly relaxed. Bars and restaurants have settled along the promenade north of the harbor, which is lined with benches under tamarisk trees. Colonia de Sant Pere has several restaurants and bars, two supermarkets, pharmacies and a few stores. On Saturdays there is a typical Mallorcan market where you can find various stalls selling clothes, shoes, fruit and vegetables and typical Mallorcan sausages and cheese. Below the promenade is the local beach, which is protected by a breakwater. It is about 80 meters long and 20 meters wide. The hinterland of Colonia de Sant Pere is characterized by the mountain ranges of the eastern coastal mountain range of Mallorca - the Serres de Llevant - and is ideal for long hikes in winter. There are local shops in the village itself as well as in surrounding communities such as Artà, where the popular weekly market takes place every Tuesday.
