Sankt Peter-Ording is located on the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein in the district of Nordfriesland and is part of the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The popular vacation resort is one of the best-known destinations on the German North Sea coast and impresses with its unique natural backdrop and characteristic pile dwellings. With its 12 km long and up to 2 km wide sandy beach, SPO is known as the "largest sandbox in Europe". Its location on the Eiderstedt peninsula ensures a pleasant, moderate climate all year round with mild winters and fresh North Sea air.
