House in La Garriga
Description:
The splendor of a noucentista architectural home In 1885, the renowned master builder of La Garriga, Tomàs Nualart, built the Can Plandiura house. Because of its location, in the street of the Center and right in front of the church, in the old center of the village, it is very likely that the new building replaced an old construction. But the one we see today is the result of the intervention made by the architect Raimon Duran y Reynals, in 1928, who kept the facade openings of the previous work -only changed the side access door-, and gave the whole a typically noucentista aesthetic. The architect was helped in the decoration of the house and in the design of the garden by renowned Catalan artists and designers of the time. This was probably due to the great interest that the Plandiura family had in art. The important art collector Lluís Plandiura lived in the house. The example of Can Plandiura, where an old house on the royal road, a legacy of centuries of popular architecture, was replaced by a new construction that followed the new artistic trends. Declared a Cultural Asset of Local Interest, today its splendor remains intact in the central square of the village. This exceptional and exclusive house, internally lined with wood and marble in all its rooms, is distributed over three floors + basement where the kitchen and cellar are located and a loft with access to the terrace. With a total of five bedrooms and four bathrooms. Given the number of rooms that are distributed, they could be converted into nine rooms. Interesting for investors, because it can be divided and converted into 6 floors. Contact us for more information, as there is the possibility of extending the land of the house by 231m2 more (check price).

Location
La Garriga's location near Barcelona, its pleasant climate and the presence of thermal springs made it a popular summer destination for the Catalan bourgeoisie in the early 20th century. This fact prompted the construction of modernist buildings in the area. The town offers a wide range of services, including international schools such as SEK and ISCAT, a medical center, cinema, theater, thermal spas and public transportation by bus and RENFE line R3, which connects with Barcelona and Puigcerdà. In addition, its location next to the Montseny Natural Park makes it one of the most appreciated towns in the Vallés Oriental.
