Real estate agent in Cala Ratjada – More about one of the most popular places in Mallorca
Cala Ratjada is known to many holidaymakers in Mallorca, as the place in the northeast of the island is one of the most famous on the Balearic island. This is due to the fact that at the beginning of the 20th century many famous personalities found sanctuary in Cala Ratjada. These included, for example, the author Karl Otten and the painter Rudolf Levy. Even today, many celebrities are drawn to Cala Ratjada. None other than Dieter Bohlen has a property there and spends several months in the coastal town. The presence of celebrities isn’t surprising as Cala Ratjada also has a very trendy club scene.
Over the years, Cala Ratjada has developed into a party metropolis that attracts crowds of visitors during the summer months. Then there is something going on everywhere and there is often live music in the streets. Unfortunately, during these times, the small bars and exclusive restaurants are overcrowded, so that its better to see what else the region has to offer. In the neighbouring Arta, for example, there is the Forn Nou Restaurant that is known for its excellent Mediterranean cuisine.
But Cala Ratjada also has sides that reflect the history of the coastal town. This can be seen in the beautiful lobster houses in the harbour, which are listed as historical buildings. In the small harbour fast motorboats alternate with traditional fishing boats.
A popular meeting place for the locals is the harbour promenade, where restaurants, cafés and small shops can be found. If you like it a little quieter, you can retreat to the sandy beaches of the region. Cala Agulla, for example, is particularly idyllic and there are no buildings at its edges. Instead, there is a picturesque pine forest that also provides some shade. The island’s capital, which you can reach from Cala Ratjada in about 1 hour, is a more lively option.
